Search Engine Registration (Submission)

Submission to the search engines used to be an important part of the post launch activities for new sites - but now it is better in most cases to allow the engines to find a site through links from other websites. That means it is essential to provide suitable links so that search engine spiders can find a new site.

Submission to directories such as ODP, still need to be done manually.

NB – Do not submit mirror sites or sites with very similar content to Directories - only submit the main site.
Where a url breaks up over several lines, copy and paste the whole url into the address bar.
    D - indicates a directory.
    D/SE - indicates a hybrid directory/search engine.

For the 'Shopping & Services' or 'Business to Business' main sections  you now must use Yahoo's Business Express submission option for $299 (for review within 7 days).
You can still submit commercial sites to Yahoo for free by submitting to the Regional section; just drill down to the relevant country, or region, and you'll find a Business to Business and Shopping & Services subsection that you can apply to for free!
Site must be good, fast loading, and must have physical address + full contact details prominently listed. Find best category then 'Suggest a Site'.
Supply URL, Title (max 60 char), Description (max 25 words), contact name, email, location (City, State/Prov., Country, PostCode).
